The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced the launch of the “Regularization of Absconding Domestic Workers Status” initiative, to be implemented through the Musaned Platform. This comes as part of its ongoing efforts to develop and regulate the domestic labor sector in the Kingdom, and in continuation of the Labor Reform Initiative.
The initiative will commence on 11 May 2025 (13 Dhu al-Qi’dah 1446H) and will run for six months. It aims to enable domestic workers and employers to regularize the status of absconding workers through fully automated procedures on Musaned. The initiative allows new employers to transfer services and complete the process digitally, contributing to an improved work environment and safeguarding the rights of all parties.
The Ministry clarified that the initiative is part of its broader efforts to regulate the labor market, enabling domestic workers who have previously been reported as absconding and are still residing in the Kingdom irregularly to regularize their status by transferring their services to new employers, subject to completing the required procedures.
The Ministry confirmed that all procedures will be carried out through Musaned, and the initiative does not apply to workers reported as absconding after the launch date.
