The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced the extension of the “Regularization of Absconding Domestic Workers Status” initiative, which will continue to be implemented through the Musaned Platform. This extension aligns with the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to regulate and enhance the domestic labor sector, as part of the Labor Reform Initiative.
The extension will take effect on 11 November 2025 (20 Jumada Al-Awwal 1447H) and will continue for six months. It aims to provide domestic workers and employers with an additional opportunity to regularize the status of absconding workers through fully automated procedures via Musaned, allowing new employers to transfer services and complete all steps digitally, thereby improving the work environment and ensuring the protection of all parties’ rights.
The Ministry stated that the initiative enables domestic workers who have been reported as absconding or whose residency permits have expired, and who remain irregularly in the Kingdom, to regularize their status by transferring their services to new employers after completing the necessary legal procedures.
The Ministry confirmed that all procedures will be conducted through Musaned, and the extension does not apply to workers reported as absconding after the announcement date.
